International Contest of PhD Theses in Magnetic Fluids
In connection with the upcoming 17th International Conference on Magnetic Fluids (ICMF17), an international contest of PhD theses in the field of Magnetic Fluids is announced. The contest covers doctoral theses defended in the period between consecutive ICMF conferences.
The prize for the selected thesis will include a certificate and the opportunity to deliver a feature lecture at ICMF 2026, to be held in Vienna, Austria.
Eligibility criteria:
- The thesis must be in the field of Magnetic Fluids.
- The thesis must have been defended between January 2023 and December 2025.

February 28, 2026
Application procedure:
Before the application deadline, candidates are required to submit their application by email to stefan.odenbach@tu-dresden.de with the subject line:
“Application for contest of PhD theses”
The application email must include the following documents and information:
- A brief curriculum vitae of the candidate (maximum 2 pages), provided in PDF format.
- A motivation letter (maximum 1 page, PDF format) describing the main aims and achievements of the PhD thesis.
- An internet link where the PhD thesis can be downloaded in PDF format. The link must remain active at least until the end of May 2026.
