Prof. Dr. Stefan Klumpp is Professor of Theoretical Biophysics at the University of Göttingen and a Fellow of the Max Planck School Matter to Life.
He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Potsdam in 2003 and subsequently held a postdoctoral position at UC San Diego.
His research investigates how biological function is implemented within physical constraints. A major focus of his work is motility and active matter, including magnetotactic motility and magnetic active matter.
